Newborn day old kitten found with umbilical cord still attached by rescuer who nursed and cared for it, raising it to be their dog child’s little sister, pet pawrent says: ‘She’s so playful and is now trying to sneak behind corners and scare my yorkie.’

If you thought that rescuing an adult cat is tough, then you have a whole other thing coming with the rescue of this newborn kitten.

For those who are unfamiliar, kittens, when first born, are blind. They only know how to seek out their mother's milk and even rely on their mother to help them go to the bathroom. This is obviously very delicate work that is usually done by the mother using her tongue. So you can imagine just how tough it would be for a hooman to try and provide a similar service.

But that is exactly what our cat rescuing hero had to do when they came upon an abandoned newborn cat. Taking pity on the helpless creature they picked it up, brought it home and began the arduous task of keeping it alive until it could open its eyes and be a little more independent. And through a combination of sheer determination and will, they succeeded. Leaving them with a feline best bud who will never leave their side.

Well, well, this is quite the undertaking even for the most experienced of kitten carers. These tiny creatures require feeding every couple of hours, manual support in going to the bathroom as well as a whole lot of other kinds of help. And that is so long as everything goes right. But at least this unknowledgeable hooman was right about one thing, that poor kitten would not have survived the storm alone. Heck, that newborn would not have survived another hour or two alone whether it was about to get stormy or not. So at the very least they did the right thing by picking it up and taking it home.

Goodness, what an experience it must have been to see a kitten’s eyes open after you have done everything in your power to keep them alive and healthy in the literal first few days of their life. Momma cats work hard at doing that work and that is the work they were literally created to do. So for a hooman to have to handle that it is truly impressive. This cat lover has done exceptionally well to see this kitten out of the proverbial woods and will now have a cat attached to them for the rest of the feline’s life. A life full of love, adoration and appreciation.
